Job Description Summary

Production Supervisors oversee the work of production associates and coordinates with leaders of production support staff to monitor production floor performance and provide feedback. In addition, they oversee the planning, scheduling, setup, and running of production activities. Supervisors also lead the dispersal and distribution of materials for production and maintain labor and material requirements to meet the daily production schedule.

AAM has currently has openings on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Availability to work these shifts, as well as availability to work overtime and weekends when needed is required.

Job Description

  • Supervises production associate outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and mentoring associates.
  • Communicates job expectations while planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Strives to meet production goals by observing process volumes and recommending process adjustments.
  • Coordinates production processes by monitoring progress; expediting material flow and resolving problems to achieve desired results.
  • Improves process workflow by eliminating stoppages and analyzing delays.
  • Completes daily shift production reports.
  • Maintains process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and issues with incoming shift.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy production process environment by adhering to organization standards and policies and legal regulations, while alerting others of potential concerns.
  • Contributes to production process and organization success bywelcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.

Required Skills and Education

High school diploma or equivalent

2 years' or more Manufacturing supervision

Automotive background is preferred but not required
