The opportunity:We are currently looking for a Safety and Environment Coordinator to join our Team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Plant Manager this position will support the team in a dynamic environment. The ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines are of prime importance in this position.
As Coordinator, Safety & Environment you will:- Assist with data review and analysis on various safety, environmental and sustainability reporting metrics;
- Assist with various regulatory reports, as well as internal reports to Emera senior management;
- Assist with the activities associated with work plan deliverables, including but not limited to, safety and environmental performance initiatives and audit program deliverables;
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Cority Safety and Environment platform.This includes the responsibility for safety and environmental reporting using this platform;
- Oversee daily office activities including but not limited to, organizing schedules and meetings, preparing documents and presentations, file and document management, invoice processing, and expense report processing;
- Champion the SharePoint sites for the Team, maintaining and updating electronic document storage as required.

- Extremely organized with a strong ability to multi-task, while maintaining a high level of accuracy;
- A natural aptitude for technology and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook is essential;
- Experience with various software packages, including Oracle, and PeopleSoft would be considered an asset;
- Formal environmental training, and/or safety training would be considered an asset;
- This job may require occasional working at heights (e.g., environmental monitoring platforms) where access is via stairs, walkways, and ladders.
