Job Description:

J.P. Morgan Commercial Banking (CB) is a market leading provider of Wholesale Payments products to the Corporate Client Banking, Middle Market, Government, Healthcare, Not-for-Profit, Financial Institutions Group and Real Estate markets. The CB Product Delivery team is tasked with representing the needs of Commercial Banking clients, commercializing the product value propositions to the marketplace and driving adoption through the enablement of client-facing representatives of the line of business.

Reporting to the Managing Director of CB Payment Product Delivery, this Executive Director role will be charged with driving the development of an eCommerce and TP3 approach for the Payment products within Commercial Banking. This will involve partnering closely with key client-facing teams within CB as well as Corporate and Investment Banking, particularly those covering Technology clients and working in Solutions teams within Wholesale Payments. The objective will be to articulate the needs of CB clients in relation to eCommerce solutions and services and to pull together the value proposition for them from the various product management teams. This individual will also serve as the main point of contact for Chase Merchant Services (CMS) within the Product Delivery team. Responsibilities include strategy contribution and execution, feature enhancement prioritization and project tracking, competitive gap analysis, product pricing and sales enablement. This will all be done in close collaboration with colleagues across lines of business, product management, marketing, finance, and key control partners to deliver innovative and envelope-pushing solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging expert knowledge of technologies and solutions to drive an eCommerce approach, to include third party payment processors, across strategic business segments

  • Developing content that supports the solutions for delivery through training, marketing, communications, process & procedures and standardized proposal content

  • Driving product strategy that supports unique requirements across industries and client segments

  • Hiring and managing a team of high-performing individuals that have an end-to-end mentality to developing product strategies, operationalizing them and communicating them to the marketplace

  • Representing CB client interests as a product liaison with the CMS organization to understand and contribute to future-state product roadmaps

  • Developing business case and ROI tools that quantify the value we can deliver through improving working capital and the operational processes of our clients

  • Segmenting the portfolio and analyzing product usage / trends across the CB client base to identify areas of opportunity and vulnerability

  • Coordinating and prioritizing product input on CB investment process via input from Clients, Product Solutions Specialists, TMOs, and Bankers

  • Developing close relationships with counterparts in Corporate and Investment Banking and Consumer and Community Banking and delivery strategic solutions to Senior Executives in Commercial Banking

  • Partnering with the product management teams that support digital platforms and customer journeys to bring enhancements to CB clients (e.g, Chase Connect, JPMorgan Access and customer payment gateways)

  • Leveraging an external network to understand the marketplace and bring thought leadership to the firm to help us maintain and grow a competitive Merchant Services proposition


  • Minimum 10 years of relevant payments experience, preferably in the Merchant Services and Digital domains and with a strong understanding of treasury management payment products

  • Strategic thinker that has talent for bringing complex ideas and solutions to life for our clients and their consumers

  • Significant leadership and general management experience with multiple cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Service, Sales, Marketing and across management levels on simultaneous projects

  • Proven track record of influencing senior executives (both internal and external to the firm).

  • Sales enablement experience with bringing new product capabilities to market and supporting sales education

  • Segmenting, tracking and analyzing client product usage, profitability, risk profiles and pipeline development to generate action-oriented insights

  • BA/BS degree required with graduate degree preferred

  • Propensity for translating technical concepts to any audience and bringing the value of these concepts to life for our clients
