Cambridge Halls Academy is a private, coeducational day and boarding school established to provide international education to students of all races and creeds beginning from creche class - Upper Junior High School. CHA offers a curriculum modelled along the English National Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations, IGCSE and Ghana Education Service(GES) with English as the medium of instruction.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a School Sanitary/Safety Officer. This position is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors within the school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety and sanitation protocols, conducting safety inspections and audits, and responding to emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety and sanitation protocols in accordance with Ghana regulations
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and resolve potential hazards
• Respond to emergencies, accidents, and illnesses, providing first aid and coordinating with emergency medical services as necessary
• Investigate accidents and incidents, and report findings to relevant authorities
• Develop and conduct safety training and education programs for students, staff, and visitors
• Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of safety equipment and systems, such as fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety and sanitation inspections, training programs, and emergency responses
• Collaborate with school administration and other staff to promote a culture of safety and well-being

Qualifications:

• A diploma or equivalent, a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, experience in a school or educational setting is a plus
• Current certification in first aid and CPR

Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of safety and sanitation protocols and procedures
• Knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures
• Ability to conduct safety inspections and audits
• Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
