International Logistics Specialist

We are looking for an International Logistics Specialist to support our Export Operations team in our Jericho, NY office.  The Logistics Specialist creates value by executing in our supply chain and providing solutions to challenges while maintaining compliance with all export regulations.  Employees that mirror the values of the organization and obtain results will have opportunities to advance into roles with increased responsibility and opportunities for value creation. 

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


  • Purchasing/Selling Order Issuance

  • Proactively monitoring purchase orders and sales order fulfillment

  • Providing solutions to ensure continuous flow of material movement to satisfy vendor and customer needs while maximizing profitability

  • Requesting and monitoring pre-vessel bookings to ensure timely movement of material

  • Accurately reviewing, entering and issuing  purchase and sales orders

  • Collaborating and working cohesively across multiple teams within our supply chain to drive innovation and continuous improvement.  

  • Adhering to all compliance standards while proactively identifying and contributing to gap closures 

  • Thinking critically, seek and share knowledge and suggests changes to maximize efficiencies

  • Working within a fast-paced environment

  • Using communication skills to maintain relationships with customers


What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Three years or more of experience in international logistics(freight forwarding, ocean carriers, or shippers)

  • Knowledge of export logistic terminology (i.e. INCO / Ocean Shipping Terms)

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Software- Word (creating documents) Outlook (for internal and external correspondence) and Excel (creating spreadsheets, entering data, using formulas)


What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Experience reviewing Letter of Credits

  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel (creating pivot tables, V-look ups, data analysis)

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
