DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Child Support Enforcement Specialist for the Department of Human Services, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Child Support Enforcement Program on an on-going basis. In this role, you will establish and maintain effective liaison interfaces with the local IV-D Domestic Relations Sections, the local
IV-A county assistance offices, children and youth services offices, and both intra-and inter-state to coordinate case activity, mediate disputes, foster program compliance, optimize collections, and promote self-sufficiency of families.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Hours of work are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch (negotiable).
  • This is a home headquartered position which will require you to travel to Lackawanna, Luzerne, Northampton, Schuylkill, Susquehanna, and Wayne counties. You must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of these counties by the start of employment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Four years of experience in a domestic relations office which included the interpretation, application and explanation of policies and regulations and analysis of information; or
  • A bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training including one year in a domestic relations office which included the interpretation, application and explanation of policies and regulations and analysis of information.

  • You must reside in or be willing to relocate to Lackawanna, Luzerne, Northampton, Schuylkill, Susquehanna, or Wayne county by the start of employment. The selected candidate must have residency in one of the above counties for the remainder of employment in this position, as you will be required to travel to these counties.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
