ABOUT THE COMPANY

International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH) was registered in Kenya as a local non-governmental organization in May 2000. It is one of the leading sexual and reproductive health research and intervention organizations in Kenya.ICRH began activities in Kenya over many years ago as a member of the University of Nairobi collaborative HIV/STI research group. ICRH started activities in Mombasa in 1996 and works closely with the Ministry of Health at national and county level. Since inception we have designed, conducted and implemented many projects on reproductive health issues. These studies, interventions and trainings were in the following broad areas; STIs and HIV prevention, Cervical Cancer, Maternal, Child health and Nutrition, Family Planning and Contraception, Gender Based Violence, Reproductive Health Rights and Harmful Practices.

JOB SUMMARY

Minimum Qualifications Required:At least a Bachelor's degree in medical anthropology, medical sociology, public health or a related field emphasizing qualitative research methods training.Verifiable experience in performing qualitative data analysis using NVivo, Dedoose or any to other related qualitative analysis softwareSpecific experience and skills required:2+ years' experience in research involving human participants2+ years conducting in-depth interviewing, focus group discussions, and participantExperience supervising field data collectorsStrong organizational, planning, and problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills and a team playerExcellent written, verbal and visual communication skills areQualifications Preferred:Any of the following additional experience isPrevious experience working with health care providers and patientsResearch plan development and executionCoordination of multi-county studies and interventionsCandidate must be able to:Assist with report creation, including writing, analysis, and chart and table creation in Excel orDetailed note-taking during client calls andAble to effectively problem-solve logistical issues and self-initiate Proactively identify issues and suggest solutions on how to make projects run more smoothly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) coordinate field activities including recruitment, training, and supervision of research assistants, 2) oversee data collection through focus group discussions, in-depth interviews/Key informant interviews, and direct observation, 3) conduct a qualitative analysis of data, prepare study reports and disseminate findings, and 4) participate in journal publications and professional conference presentations. Other key responsibilities include preparing documents for submission to ethics review committees, ensuring adherence to data handling and confidentiality, and quality control.
