Coding Teacher for Children

Who we are

We’re a programming school for children aged 5 to 17 looking to explore the world of computers and build up their skills in digital literacy, writing programs, creating videos, designing websites, and more.

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you

  • Have a technical or IT educational background
  • Have worked as a camp counselor or teacher
  • Have experience training or working with children between ages 5 to 17
  • Are enthusiastic about technology and the possibilities it holds for transforming society

Our list of courses include

  • Coding Knight - Teaching kids aged 5 to 7 to code.
  • Visual programming - Introducing kids aged 9 to 10 to programming.
  • Digital Literacy - Empowering kids aged 7 to 9 to excel with computers in today’s digital age.
  • Game Design - Helping kids aged 10 to 11 to channel their creativity toward designing games using Roblox Studio.
  • Website Creation - Showing kids aged 11 to 12 the basics building blocks of website creation using HTML and CSS.
  • Python - Teaching kids aged 14 to 17 the fundamentals of python.

What you will have to do:

  • Create a cool, driving environment that you and your students will rush to every day.Set the mood!
  • Teach and inspire groups of up to 12 students.
  • Encourage kids to post their projects, vote, communicate, write their own applications and games on our platform and participate there as well.
  • Motivate, guide, and help kids if something does not work out.
  • Provide feedback for parents on their children's successes, difficulties, and so on about 4-5 times during a course.

What you will NOT do:

  • Write lesson plans — everything is already done. All you need to do is get acquainted with it beforehand.
  • Spend time checking homework. We simply don't have them.
  • Mess around with paperwork. We don’t do reports and unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Check out "simple" tasks. There are tasks for creating code and making projects at the end of the course but you’ll be helping the children to discover their ideas, overcome difficulties, and make a product they will be proud to present.

What skills/qualities are required?

  • A love of teaching. This may not be a skill, but it is a super-important condition.
  • An ability to explain complex things in simple words.
  • Experience working with children.
  • An understanding of the programming languages you’ll be teaching in a specific course.

12 months

Salary:

From ₦45,000.00 to ₦60,000.00 per month
