Specialist - Asset Walk Down.Financial.Finance

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job :

The Specialist Asset Walk-Down is part of the Financial Services department at the Opco and would support the transactional aspects of fixed assets management for the Opco. The Specialist AWD support EAM Manager, in performing asset tagging, physical verification of assets, reconciliation between FAR and physical count and update FAR for the Opco, in accordance with MTN’s company policies, procedures and contractual obligations, as applicable.

The Specialist AWD reports to the Manager Enterprise Asset Management. The position will interface with the CoE and Opco stakeholders and the Shared Services Hub (SSH) (not limited to) via Oracle workflows and non-Oracle workflows in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Job Specifications/ Minimum & Preferred Requirements

Education / Business Degree

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent

Work Experience

  • 2 - 3 years of working experience in a leading environment (Fixed Assets)

Any other specifications

  • Knowledge of assets Physical verification and reconciliation
  • Prior experience in telecom finance department
  • ERP (Oracle preferred)
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Operational Delivery

Assets Walk-Down

  • Prepare and maintain Fixed Asset Registers (FAR)
  • Perform physical verification of 1/3 of total asset per year
  • Tag all the serialize asset in FAR
  • Update Fixed Asset Register with Tag number
  • Perform asset revaluations

Compliance and Reporting

  • Prepare for routine and special requests / analyses for internal groups, external auditors, affiliated companies and regulatory agencies
  • Collect data for regular and special projects
  • Prepare report after AWD
  • Accept work outside the normal scope or responsibility based on volumes within AP team
