The Assistant Site Supervisor is a key position in the operations of our licensed child care centers. The position works closely with the site supervisor to manage all programmatic, business/financial and staffing aspects of an early care and education center, in accordance with the agency?s program, financial and people management goals. This is a leadership position designed to support emerging leaders in the field as they gain the skills and knowledge needed to move forward asa site supervisor. This role requires this position to be in ratio and assist in supervising other teacher(s) while assisting the site manager in the day to day operations of the center. This role consists of administration responsibilities and supporting parents, staff, and children as needed.
Position duties are encompassing, but not limited to the following.
Assist with the assessment of program quality
Model responsive adult/child interactions through developmentally appropriate curriculum planning & environmental design, observation-based child assessment, and documentation of children' s learning
Work closely with the Site Supervisor to increase center enrollment, marketing, establishing & managing budgets and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Assist the site supervisor in scheduling, observing, and supporting center teaching staff
Assist the staff in the development of professional skills and for communication and compliance to all agency policies and procedures.
Represent center/agency at school and community events as needed
Qualifications & Details
Minimum AA degree with 24 ECE/CD units, 6 units in administration and2 units in adult supervision; or BA with 12 units of ECE/CD, plus 3 units of supervised field experience in ECE
Site Supervisor permit required or at least eligible for a Site Supervisor Permit.
2 years of experience supervising adults/staff
1-3 years of experience as an Early Childhood Teacher. Knowledge of lesson plan prep, anecdotal notes, portfolios, and assessments a plus.
Work Hours as posted with some flexibility to work alternate hours as center needs require
Strong teamwork and customer service skills
Initiative, problem-solving, and time management skills
Interact with children in a manner consistent with CDI/CDCphilosophy
