About the role

We are seeking a Business Operations Manager to join our Uganda Operations team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying and partnering with schools, facilitating their onboarding onto our platform, and establishing strong relationships. Your primary focus will be to test hypotheses and promote the adoption of our product in the market.

Working closely with the company's founding team, including Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Account Management, you will define essential business processes. You will be responsible for end-to-end ownership, ensuring smooth execution, and driving key business metrics in Uganda.

This position offers immense visibility, impact, and autonomy. As you successfully tackle hyper-growth challenges, your role and responsibilities will expand rapidly, providing limitless opportunities for professional growth. There is no limit to how far you can go in this role.

 What you'll do

  • Conduct market research to identify potential partner schools, educational institutions in the target area.
  • Develop and implement business development strategy to attract early adopter schools to our platform.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, administrators, and influencers in the education industry, understanding their pain points and presenting our platform as a solution.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and functionalities of our product
  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide valuable feedback from potential partner schools and contribute to product improvements.
  • Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements with schools, ensuring that all terms and conditions are clearly defined and understood.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process of partner schools, including training sessions and ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition onto our platform.
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to represent our company and establish partnerships with relevant organizations.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress in CRM software.

Pay range

  • 1,000,000 - 2,000,000 UGX monthly depending on experience, plus equity 

Required profile for job ad : Business Operations Manager

 What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experiences, preferably in a early-stage fintech startup, business operations or management consulting role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in working for Become a product superuser who is knowledgeable of every part of our product
  • Serve as a customer advocate by sharing customer feedback and product ideas with the product team to help advance the product
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or partnership management, preferably within the education or financial technology sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the private school landscape in Uganda, including knowledge of key players, industry trends, and challenges.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with a passion for achieving results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of responsibilities and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in using office software (e.g., MS Office suite, spreadsheets, and databases).
