Position : Head: Member Services

ATAF is looking for a dynamic professional who can lead and implement its programs and strategies as Head of its Member Services Department.

As part of the Executive Management Team your role will be to manage the operations and delivery of the Member Services team. You will lead and motivate the team to drive ATAF’s programmes regarding.

  • The provision of Technical Assistance to member countries (including the rapid response support program in instances where member countries require urgent assistance from ATAF at short notice):
  • The positioning of the ATAF Tax Academy as a leading training institution both on the continent and beyond in the provision of an impact and results driven training program which you will constantly review with the Head of the Tax Academy to ensure it remains current and responsive to member needs and developments in the tax environment.
  • Managing the work of the African Tax Research Network and the African Multi-disciplinary Tax Journal to both inform and support the work of the Tax Academy. 
Required profile for job ad : Head: Member Services

The ideal candidate that will attract our attention is one with 7+ years’ work experience in Tax Policy and/or Tax Administration Management some of which has to be at Senior Management with Board and stakeholder engagement. You should also ideally have a post graduate qualification in a tax related field and be fluent in English and/or French.

Finally, you will be required to frequently travel both on the continent and internationally so a valid passport with no restrictions will be essential.

In return ATAF is willing to offer you a competitive remuneration package as part of a four-year contract based at its offices in Pretoria, South Africa.

A country-focused model, which potentially includes international (transfer pricing/exchange of information) and/or domestic issues (VAT/Compliance), policy and administrative solutions, and multiple forms of delivery, involving ATAF, the recipient country and other delivery partners.

Partnership:

A delivery and assessment partnership based on a formal agreement between ATAF and the recipient country with joint ownership and responsibility for scoping programmes, implementation, milestones, assessment, programme completion dates, evaluation of outcomes and impact analysis.

Cross-divisional approach:

A cross-divisional approach within ATAF, linking the work of the TA and Research Divisions to ensure that the TA work is based on a coherent ATAF approach to the country concerned, utilising all institutional knowledge and providing opportunities to develop areas of research which will benefit members.
