We are looking to recruit a Maths and Science teacher.
The applicant, if employed would be required to: Tutor pupils between the age of 5 and 14 in Mathematics and Science at the primary school level based on the syllabus provided by the Ghana Education Service. Assign and mark quizzes, test, assignments and examinations as when necessary or directed by the authorities in the institution. Aid in any extra curricular activities that the school participates in. Follow and directions or instructions form the authorities in the institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote a love for learning: Your mission is to foster a passion for mathematics and science in your students. Create an engaging and interactive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a desire to explore these subjects further
Build a strong foundation: Ensure that your students have a solid understanding of fundamental concepts in mathematics and science. Focus on developing their problem-solving skills, logical reasoning abilities, and scientific inquiry methods
Adapt teaching methods: Recognize that each student has unique learning needs and adapt your teaching methods accordingly. Employ a variety of instructional techniques, such as visual aids, hands-on experiments, group activities, and technology integration, to cater to diverse learning styles
Encourage active participation: Encourage active participation and class discussions to enhance students' understanding and engagement. Provide opportunities for students to ask questions, present their ideas, and collaborate with their peers
Provide real-world connections: Help students see the practical applications of mathematics and science in everyday life. Connect theoretical concepts to real-world examples, current events, and relevant careers to demonstrate the relevance and importance of these subjects
Foster critical thinking: Develop your students' analytical and problem-solving skills. Encourage them to think critically, evaluate evidence, analyze data, and develop logical arguments. Teach them how to approach challenges with a systematic and scientific mindset.
Support individual growth: Recognize and nurture the unique talents and interests of each student. Provide guidance and resources to help them explore advanced topics or pursue additional opportunities in mathematics and science, such as science fairs, math competitions, or research projects
Promote inclusivity: Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate. Ensure that your teaching materials and examples are inclusive and diverse, representing different cultures, genders, and backgrounds
Collaborate with colleagues: Engage in professional development activities and collaborate with fellow teachers to enhance your teaching strategies. Share ideas, resources, and best practices to collectively improve the quality of math and science education
Instill lifelong learning: Foster a lifelong love for learning in your students. Teach them how to become independent learners, encourage them to continue exploring math and science outside the classroom, and inspire them to pursue further education or careers in STEM fields.
